Its a spin-off from the popular Alpha Course, which was first devised in London, England and has enjoyed global popularity. Like the original Alpha course, Alpha for Youth is a prac- tical exploration of the Christian faith, designed primarily for non-church goers and new Christians. The specially- designed youth curriculum focuses on presentations that are interactive and fast-paced. Alpha for Youth is a bold new undertaking for the con- gregation of the Union Presbyterian Church, which will cel- ebrate its 175th anniversary this spring and they invite all area youth in Grades 7 through high school to participate. This will be an exciting opportunity for our youth to explore Christianity and its meaning, says David Thompson, an elder at Union Presbyterian Church and the team leader for this new youth project. The program begins Saturday, Feb. 23, at the church, 16789 22 Sideroad (corner of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Old School Road) and will run for 10 consecutive Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Each session will begin with a family-style breakfast with discussion groups to follow. For more information or to register contact David Thompson (905-877-8466 or elmlawn@aztec-net.com) or Emma Rock (905-877-5506 or rocks@aztec-net.com.)
