Emilee Hickman Jenn Garvie Alex Milne NO PHOTO AVAILABLE Acton High School Athletes of the Week are Jenn Garvie and Alex Milne. Both are members of the Bearcats swim team, and competed at a swim meet at MMR. Garvie finished 5 of 29 in the 50 freestyle and 2 or 9 in the 50 backstroke and qualified for GHAC in the backstroke. Milne finished 8 of 29 in the 50 free, and was part of the 200 freestyle relay team. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Elizabeth Skuriat and Chris Dellman. Both are members of the Rebels swim team, and competed at McMaster University swim meet. Skuriat finished 2 of 9 in the 200 freestyle, and 2 of 6 as part of the 200 medley relay team. Dellman competed in the 50 breast stroke, the 200 medley relay, the 200 free relay and the 100 metre individual medley, and brought home a gold medal in all events. Christ the King Catholic High School Athletes of the Week are Emilee Hickman and Marc Nadeau. Hickman, the manager of the Jaguars' senior girls vol- leyball team, was cited for her dedication to the sport, as well as her work on the team. Nadeau, a left winger on the Jaguars' hockey team was selected for his one goal and one assist in a 5-4 win over GDHS. 4 Sports & Leisure, Friday, February 22, 2008 John Viera (left) of JV Clothing handed over a framed Toronto Maple Leafs jersey to National Hockey League refereee and Georgetown native Wes McCauley last week. The jersey was later pre- sented to NHL official Bil l Mc- Creary, who refereed his 1,500th game Saturday at the Air Canada Centre when the Leafs played the Bruins. McCreary, of Guelph, was allowed by the league to select the rest of the officiating crew for the benchmark contest and he request- ed McCauley, whose late father John was the NHLs director of offi- ciating when McCreary was starting out.
