The Poundkeeper will respond to, investigate and impound domestic farm animals, (cattle, horses, goats etc.) trespassing or running at large within the Town, and appraising the damages to be paid by the owner of the animals found trespassing. The Town of Halton Hills will pay an annual retainer, a fee per call, plus any applicable mileage charges. The poundage fees to cover feed, shelter, and other costs associated with housing of the animals picked up by the Poundkeeper shall be set by the Town and recovered from the owner of the animals when they are reclaimed in accordance with the Pounds Act.
