Globe still needs three people to round out the cast and crew. The part of Harbison (a small but important male speaking part age 20 to 55) is still open. They need one more sailor (a good singer of any range age 20 to 50) who can be persuaded to move on stage with the rest of the guys (we dont call it dancing, as they are playing a bunch of real sailors). No experience is necessary, just a chance to be on stage if you have always thought that you might like to do this. And lastly, if you are handy and have some time to swing a hammer to help build sets or you can paint sets, you wont find a hobby that is more fun! Its a great activity for retired couples too. Halton Region Museum presented The Spirit of Harriet Tubman recently to the public and school audiences at the John Elliott Theatre. The one-woman show by Leslie McCurdy chronicled the life of his- torical figure, Harriet Tubman, who escaped slavery and led many others to freedom. Photos by Ted Brown The one and only Harriet Tubman Globe needs more cast and crew After another successful Charity Book Sale this past November local business, Fraser Direct has donated $1,000 from the proceeds of the sale to the Georgetown Childrens Chorus. Lois Fraser explained that Several parents and kids from the choir have volunteered over the years, although there was no financial benefit to do so. This is our way of saying thanks. The Georgetown Childrens Chorus, now singing for its 16th season, is currently rehearsing for their annual Spring concert A Taste of the Maritimes. The concerts will be held at the John Elliott Theatre in the Halton Hills Cultural Centre on Friday, March 28 and two shows on Saturday, March 29.
