A number of these artists have studios at the Williams Mill in Glen Williams. Just for Us Originals was inspired by local artist Bonnie Glass to highlight the work of Canadian women artists. Based on her own experiences, Glass was con- vinced that women artists needed a new venue through which to exhibit and sell their art, and find a wider audience for their work. Glass tested her idea on a handful of friends, colleagues, and clients. They responded enthusiastically, and several united as a team to organize the first show in the spring of 2007. Now in its second year, Just for Us Originals has grown to include the work of 25 women artists. This years show will also offer five workshops, several of which will be presented by local artists Tina Newlove, Candace Slack, and Deb Usher. Wearable art and jewelry produced by a number of the artists at the event will be highlighted in the fashion show that is to follow a luncheon especially organized as part of the whole Just for Us Originals experience. Anybody interested in taking one of the workshops or enjoying the luncheon and fashion show needs to register in advance. Those interested only in the arti- sans show and sale can buy their tickets at the door. Halton-based companies Donaldson Niblett Financial Group, Fraser Direct, and Viewpoint Mobility are all sponsors of the show, as are local arts businesses Studio Mnge and Arabella Pines and the local arts centre Williams Mill. For more information about attending the show, visit www.just-for-us.biz, e-mail justforevent@gmail.com or phone Sue Grant at 905-257-9790. Twelve artists who live or work in the Halton area will be participating in Just for Us Originals, an art show and sale to be held at the Old Mill Inn in Toronto on Saturday (April 5). Local artists whose work will be found at the show include artwear designers Bonnie Glass and Sandra Krosse, painters Janet Bailey, Tina Newlove, and Local artists featured in Toronto art show Seven of the local artists involved in Just for Us Originals 2008 gathered at the Williams Mill to attend a special workshop.
