Over 100 people turned out for this event which included a limbo contest, parachute games, a fish pond and digging for buried treasure. The celebration was a fundraiser for P.O.W.E.R. (Protect Our Water and Environmental Resources) of North Halton. P.O.W.E.R. recently joined with GlenStar in a workshop to create their own pledge to the environment. The kids signed off on this oath which fuelled their enthusiasm for last weekends chari- ty beach party. It wasnt just about having a beach party, says Amy Kelleher, director of GlenStar Programs. These kids made a pledge to help save their planet and are sticking to it! I am so proud of these young leaders who did their very best to help a worthwhile organization like P.O.W.E.R. The GlenStar Leadership Program, which runs on Saturday mornings throughout the school year, builds team- work and leadership skills for youth in Halton Hills ages 10-15. GlenStar will be showcasing its Visual and Performing Arts Summer Camps with a free spring workshop this Sunday, April 27 at the Glen Williams Town Hall, 2-4 p.m. For more information about GlenStars Programs for kids, visit www.glenstarcamp.ca or call Amy Kelleher at 905-877-0783.
