Maureen Sokolowski, a Red Cross instructor, is now teaching courses in Standard and Emergency First Aid, CPR/AED training, and the also Babysitting courses. All managers at Youngs Pharmacy have been certi- fied in Standard First Aid. Sokolowski is able to instruct courses within the Pharmacy, as well as in local businesses health clubs and sports centers. New workplace safety regulations stipulate that all businesses must have one person certified in Standard First Aid on duty at all times during business hours. Call 905-873-4021 to book your session. Young's Pharmacy staffers recently took CPR training in the basement of the store on Main St., kicking off the store's new program, offering CPR training to businesses who require staffers to be CPR certified. Photo by Jon Borgstrom A Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR/AED course will be held over two days, Sunday, May 4 and Sunday, May 25 (must attend both days), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oxford Learning Centre, 324 Guelph St, Georgetown. The cost is $110 (includes first aid manual, handouts and three-year certification card). This is a full C P R / A E D certification c o u r s e , i n c l u d e s i n c l u d e s infant, child and adult CPR - levelC, AED (Automated External Defibrillation) certification-2005 guidelines, conscious and uncon- scious choking. You will learn basic first aid for cuts, scrapes, wounds, impaled objects, nosebleeds, and allergies-epipens, sudden medical conditions such as diabetes, angina, heart attack, cardiac arrest, hypother- mia, frost bite and much more.
