The first-ever Community United Day will be held on May 10, organized by the Georgetown and Area Ministerial Association. The morning will be spent doing yard cleanups (rak- ing leaves, mowing lawns, cleaning out flowerbeds, sweeping driveways, etc.) for those in need of assistance (such as the elderly, disabled, single parents, etc.) Yard cleanups will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. The afternoon portion of the event will be a fun day held at Cedarvale Park from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature hotdogs and drinks, a tea room for seniors, lots of activities for kids (face painting, games, craft tables, etc.) and music bands for entertainment. This entire event is being offered free of charge and is open to the entire community. The goal is to make Community Unity Day an annual event and to keep our great community just that...GREAT! So come on out, bring your friends and family and spend the afternoon; youll have a great time. Rev.
