National Volunteer Appreciation week is being celebrated nation wide from April 27th to May 3rd. This years theme, Volunteers Are Shining Stars epitomizes the outstanding work our volunteers do each and every day to help enhance our patients hospital experience. The volunteers of Halton Healthcare Services contribute their unique talents, skills and knowledge to provide that extra bit of time and care for our patients and their families. We have come to rely on the compassionate nature and smiling faces of our volunteers to help us provide quality healthcare to the residents of our communities. Volunteer Appreciation Week is a time for us to celebrate the energy and commitment of our volunteers and say a much deserved Thank You! Think you know nursing? Take a closer look. National Nursing Week, May 12th to18th, is an opportune time to celebrate and thank all the Nursing staff at Halton Healthcare Services (HHS). This years theme, Think you know nursing? Take a closer look... invites people to learn how the nursing profession has evolved over the years. Today, nurses are taking on new roles and responsibilities in improving clinical care, leading advocacy work, educating, and advancing technological innovation. As key members of a dynamic healthcare team at our three community hospitals - Georgetown, Milton District and Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial - these nurses play a major role in providing exceptional patient-focused, quality care. On behalf of Halton Healthcare Services, we graciously thank our nurses for their hard work and commitment to excellence. Acton/Georgetown, Friday, May 2, 2008 33
