The awards are presented to people and organizations who make outstanding contributions to conservation in the Halton water- shed which includes Halton, Peel, Hamilton and Puslinch. The 2008 award recipients includ- ed green giants in several categories. In the Education Category the Conservation Award of Excellence was given to Club Green from Christ the King Catholic Secondary School in Georgetown. They were recognized for environmental education, recycling, stewardship and awareness projects launched by Club Green. These efforts have contributed to environmen- tal protection and watershed health. Shari Typer, a teacher from the school, and student members of Club Green accepted the award. On hand for the presentation were, from left, back row, Halton Hills Councillors and Conservation Halton Directors, Bryan Lewis and David Kentner. Owners Lucy and Alex Quaglia are proposing that business and professional offices be allowed on the site. The property is located beside the Moore Park Daycare, and both use the same driveway.
