There will also be a car seat inspection clinic held at the Fire Department head- quarters station at 53 Maple Ave. The clinic is hosted by the Halton Car Seat Coalition. The Risk Watch Blitz is an ideal event to reach a lot of families in the communi- ty, said Harry Olivieri , Chief of Prevention and Public Education. If even one injury is prevented by making the right choice, then our efforts have been rewarded. Olivieri said the tireless efforts and dedication of the Coalition members is what makes the Risk Watch Program and Summer Safety Blitz the success its been for the past five years. This is yet another opportunity to proudly advertise that Halton Hills is a Risk Watch Safe Community, said Olivieri. There will be a special welcome booth at the event for visitors to check in and receive an information bag containing various instructions/directions. Upon complet ion of the tour and stamped card, guests will receive a free hot dog and cold drink compliments of Ray Johnson & Associates and a snack provided by Frito-Lay Canada. Draws will be held for bicycles, hel- mets, life jackets and many other prize packages. Georgetown District Christian School will host the annual Risk Watch Summer Safety Blitz this Saturday. The event will be held at the school, located at 11643 Trafalgar Rd., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Risk Watch is an injury preven- tion program for children (pre- kindergarten to Grade 8). The free day of activities promotes the pre- vention of injury amongst youth. In Canada injuries are the leading cause of death for children over the age of one. The day will feature interactive computer games, a bike rodeo, hel- met fitting and inspection clinics, water safety and school bus safety to name a few. There will also be safety tips for those around farm equipment, ATVs and boating. On hand will be representatives from Halton Regional Police, OPP, Halton Region EMS and for the first time, CN Police. There will also be a pedal trac- tor pull for the kids and Emergency Services mascots will greet visitors. Risk Watch Safety Blitz to be held tomorrow The Halton District Catholic Board announced the new student trustees for the 2008-09 term recently. Philip Cockburn, currently a Grade 11 student at Christ the King Secondary School in Halt- on Hills, will serve as the north Halton student trustee, Neil Bourque, currently a Grade 11 stu- dent at Notre Dame Secondary School, will serve as the Burlington student trustee, and Chloestivo, currently a Grade 11 student at Holy Trinity Secondary School, will be the Oakville student trustee. The students will be responsible for representing more than 9,200 students in the boards secondary schools. During their term in office, stu- dent trustees have the same rights as trustees to participate at meet- ings of the board and at meetings of committees of the board. The student trustees have the right to exercise a non-binding vote at board meetings and may be present at in camera sessions of the board. Cockburn replaces Kelly Medeiros, a Bishop Reding Secondary School student, as the north Halton student trustee (2007-08). CtK student is among three named new student trustees PHILIP COCKBURN
