Bergeron and Mori have 39 years of expe- rience between them in the art of woodwork- ing originating from their high school days when Mikes first piece of beautiful wood art, an intricately engraved planter, was given to his then high school sweetheart Monica. Together they have handcrafted mission- style furniture that adorns their home and now offer carefully honed functional wood items at the Artisans Attic. These include exquisite breadboards, bowls, distinctive pens and many other items for home, cottage and office. In the making of their delightful pieces Mori and Bergeron highlight the natural grains, colours and distinctive features of each wood that are gathered from around the world. The Artisans Attic, an artisans co-opera- tive that houses the original work of more than 20 dynamic artists, is in its 12th year at 73 Main Street in downtown Georgetown. The abundance of skilled and beautiful work displayed at this store/gallery includes; func- tional and decorative pottery, weaving, bas- ketry, jewelry, original paintings and limited edition prints, photography, stained glass, blown glass, papier machfibre arts, metal sculpture and so much more. The Artisans Attic at 73 Main Street South, Georgetown, is manned by the mem- bership artists who can be seen working at their craft during store hours; Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. New summer hours will apply in the months to come. Woodworking couple join Artisans Attic co-operative Georgetown southern gospel music fans will get a chance to see some of the finest the genre has to offer at a concert in memory of Georgetown native Dan Lane Saturday, May 31 at 6 p.m. at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church on Trafalgar Road. The event will feature popular groups Greater Vision and The Browns. The concert is the sixth annual concert in honour of Lane, a southern gospel enthusiast who passed away in 2002 at the age 31 after a battle with cancer. Lanes family will donate the proceeds to Georgetown District Christian School.
