Kearns, a member of the Bearcats track team was chosen for his outstanding performance at GHAC in Mohawk Park, Hamilton. Kearns brought home a first in the shot putt, with a 13.21 metre throw, and third in discus, with a dis- tance of 34.15 metres.. Box, a Grade 11 student, struck out a dozen batters and contributed offensively with a double as the Bearcats tied Oakville-Trafalgar 4-4 in girls softball action. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Kara Brubacher and Chelsea Jensen. A first-year player on the Rebel girls rugby side, Brubacher had her teams lone try in a 15- 5 loss to M.M. Robinson. Jensen was a force at the net for Georgetowns co-ed sixes volleyball team that earned silver medals at last weeks provincial championships. Christ the King Athletes of the Week are Taylor Brown and Taylor Dowdall. Brown made two excellent defensive plays at third base for Christ the Kings boys baseball team and added two hits in a 10-3 Jaguar win over Milton. Grade 11 student Dowdall scored four tries in victories over Bishop Reding and Milton as the starting scrum half for the CtK senior girls rugby squad.
