All interested cit izens are welcome to attend. A presentation will be delivered followed by a brief question and answer period. The Pre-consultation By-law is proposed as permitted under sections 22 (3.1), 34 (10.0.1), 41 (3.1), and 51 (16.1) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1991, c.P.13, as amended. These sections of the Planning Act provide that a municipality may pass a by-law requiring applicants to consult with the municipality prior to submitting the following development applications: Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendments, draft plans of subdivision, draft plans of condominium and site plans. Over the last several years, the Town of Halton Hills has held regularly scheduled pre-consultation meetings with proponents of development in the Town prior to the submission of related development applications. The proposed By-law formalizes this practice and would require that Town staff and applicants meet before the submission of the specified application types. Pre-consultation provides an opportunity, before formal applications are submitted, for issue identification and discussion between the proponent, Town staff and representatives of commenting/ approval agencies, and helps to ensure that complete applications are filed by itemizing any required studies or reports, detailing the content of the application and specifying the correct application type(s). To obtain further information regarding the proposed Pre-consultation By-law visit the Planning and Development Department, Town of Halton Hills, 1 Halton Hills Drive, Halton Hills, Ontario L7G 5G2 or contact: Adam Farr, Manager of Development Review at 905-873-2601 ext. 2422. 57 ___________________________________________ NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE Notice is hereby given that Council for the Town of Halton Hills will be considering a report to temporarily close a section of the Nassagaweya-Esquesing Town Line for a period of ten (10) years and the closure will be renewable thereafter. Inquires and comments regarding the proposed temporary road closure should be directed to Mr. T.A. Drewlo, P. Eng., Manager of Engineering Services, before June 11, 2008. At Council's meeting to be held on June 23, 2008 at 7:30 p.m., Council shall hear any person who claims that the person's land will be prejudicially affected by the closure and applies to be heard. Below is a map showing the location of the road closure: 58 Someday, youll be offered a cigarette or be tempted to smoke. Before you start, think about it: every drag you take screws up your body. Smoking can cause permanent damage to your body. Once a person starts, it becomes extremely tough to quit. And did we mention all that cash youll be blowing in the process? So, if youre tempted to start, ask yourself, Is it worth it?
