4 Sports & Leisure, Friday, June 6, 2008 Hobart College attackman Daryl Veltman of Georgetown was drafted by the San Francisco Dragons in the fourth round of the 2008 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. The Statesmens Division I goals and points record-holder was taken with the 39th overall pick. The co-winner of the 2008 Babe Kraus Award, presented to the Geneva, N.Y. schools outstanding senior athlete, is just the 16th Statesman all-time-and the first to do so playing exclusively in Division I-to score 100 career goals. Veltman fin- ished his collegiate career with 109 goals and 53 assists for 162 points, as well as 107 ground balls. He ranks 15th on Hobarts all-time lists for both career goals and points. The three-time All-ECAC selec- tion earned first team honors this year after scoring a team-high 26 goals, despite missing the first three games of the season.
