Police investigated and laid a charge. Charged with dangerous driving is Gilbert Pace, 44, of Essex Point Dr. Police report there were several thefts from autos in Halton Hills in recent days. Change, CDs, sunglasses were taken from one vehicle parked at a Westcott Rd. Acton home sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning. Change was taken from another vehicle at the home. A TomTom GPS and Toshiba portable DVD player val- ued at $500 in total were taken from a vehicle parked at a Smith Dr. residence overnight Friday and Saturday. An IBM ThinkPad in a black bag, a Toshiba Satellite lap- top in a backpack, and Nano iPod and wallet containing ID valued at about $4,400 in total were taken from a vehicle parked at a James Young Dr. residence sometime late Friday or early Saturday. Stereo equipment was taken from a vehicle parked at a Longfield Dr. residence sometime last Thursday morning. A Toshiba laptop, Casio digital camera, XM radio, cell phone and two chargers were taken from another vehicle parked on a Longfield Dr. residence on Thursday morning as well. Mustang cobra emblems were taken from a 2001 Mustang at IZT Auto Sales on Guelph St. sometime late Saturday or early Sunday. A several week-long Halton Police investigation into recent break and enters and thefts in Georgetown has led to several arrests. Some of the incidents investigated included break-ins into Open Door Youth Centre in Georgetown (April 28), Holy Cross School (April 9), Mountainview Coin-op Laundromat (June 2), and a John St. home (June 2). An EZ Taxi from Georgetown was stolen May 13. Charged in connection with the Open Door entry with break and enter, possession of stolen property and three counts of breach of probation is Darren Campion, 20, of Delrex Blvd. In relation to break-ins at Holy Cross, Mountainview Coin-Op, Open Door and the John St. residence and the theft of the taxi, a 17-year-old Georgetown male was charged with four counts of break and enter and possession of stolen property. Following the execution of a search warrant police charged Nicholas Hamilton, 23, of Lane Crt., with pos- session of stolen property (Holy Cross School), possession of weapons dan- gerous and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. Charged with three counts of break and enter (Open Door, John St., Mountainview Coin-op) is Tristan McCausland, 18, of Normandy Blvd. Charged with two counts of break and enter (Holy Cross and Open Door), and breach of undertaking is a 15-year-old Georgetown male. Charged with theft under $5,000 (theft from auto on Ontario St. May 13), trafficking in a controlled sub- stance (OxyContin taken from Atwood Ave. vehicle May 26), breach of under- taking, and possession of stolen prop- erty (EZ Taxi) is a 14-year-old Georgetown male. Charged with theft under $5,000 (EZ Taxi), and break and enter and theft (Coin-op laundry) is Rob Styles, 22, of John St. Charged with theft under $5,000 (Atwood Ave. theft) and trafficking in a controlled substance (OxyContin Atwood Ave.) is a 15-year-old Acton male.
