Police report at about 11:45 p.m. the resident of the home was entertain- ing friends on the patio of his home when a man came to the gate of the backyard, pointed a black metal hand- gun at him and made a threat. The suspect then fled on foot. Police were called and with the aid of the canine unit searched the area but did not find the man. He is described as white, 25 to 40 years old, with a slim build, approxi- mately 160 lbs, 511 to 6 tall. He had dark hair, a dark full goatee and was wearing a black long-sleeve sweater. A man of no fixed address is facing charges after a single-vehicle accident on Guelph St. early Friday morning. Police responded to the accident at about 2:05 a.m. and when they arrived they found the two males that had been in the vehicle had fled the scene. Police located the driver a short dis- tance away. Charged with impaired driving, having over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, breach of probation, drive while disqualified and fail to remain is Aaron Mayers, 27, of no fixed address. A Georgetown man has been charged in connection with the theft of in-line skates from a donation box out- side of the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Mill St. in Georgetown Wednesday July 16. The $40 CCM in-line skates were taken from the box at about 10 p.m. Police responded and found a suspect a short time later in the Mill and Guelph St. area. Charged with theft under $5,000 is Brian Ward, 29, of Cross St. Three Brampton males are facing charges in connection with several break-ins into vehicles in Georgetown early Thursday. Halton Police received a call about a suspicious auto on Hall Rd. at about 5 a.m. Thursday. Police responded and upon further investigation arrested three males for car entries that had occurred earlier that morning on Hall Rd., Daniella Court, Durham St., Russell St., and Margaret St. All the property from the vehicles including CDs, change, sunglasses, cell phones and speakers was recovered and returned to the owners. Charged with nine counts of theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property is Gavin Cleaver, 20, of Grassington Cr., Brampton. Charged with nine counts of theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, and breach of recognizance and breach of undertaking is a 16-year- old male from Brampton. A Georgetown woman is facing a drug charge after police searched and found marijuana in a vehicle parked at The Beer Store parking lot on Guelph St. at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Charged with possession of a con- trolled substance is Kristin Madarasz, 19, of Main St. S. Police charged a Georgetown man with impaired driving and having over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood after stopping a vehicle in the Young and Arthur St. Acton area at about 10:45 p.m. Friday. Police stopped the vehicle after witnessing erratic driving. Charged is Michael Mari, 43, of Mill St. A 16-year-old Acton male has been charged with theft under $5,000 in connection with a theft from a vehicle on Cook St. that occurred sometime July 4 or 5. A wallet containing cash and identification were taken. A Georgetown man is facing a drug charge after Wellington Police stopped a vehicle in a RIDE check on Wellington Rd. 29 Friday afternoon. Officers found a small quantity of marijuana on one of the passengers in the van and a small quantity of mari- juana and small bottle of hash oil. Charged with possession of mari- juana is Stephen Daigle, 49, of Georgetown. Charged with possession of marijuana and possession of cannabis resin is Dianne E. Morrison, 50, of Rockwood. Police are investigating a hit and run accident on Church St. that occurred sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday. A fence and founda- tion were damaged to the tune of about $8,000 when the fence was struck by a vehicle. Police believe the vehicle may have been blue in colour. A Direct Energy water heater valued at $2,500 was stolen from a home under construction on Lookout Court in Georgetown sometime between Thursday and Monday. A safe containing an undisclosed quantity of cash, a cash register and tokens from the ball machine were stolen from Grand Slam Golf Range on Five Sideroad. The safe was later recov- ered nearby with the cash missing. Approximately $3,000 damage was caused to a vehicle parked in the Ninth Line/27 Sideroad area Saturday be- tween 2 and 5:25 p.m. Police say the vehicles owner had parked the car there while he went fishing nearby. He returned to find his car extensively scratched and the windshield smashed. Approximately $500 damage was caused to a vehicle parked outside a Sinclair Ave. residence at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday. The rear corner of the vehicle was struck while it was left unattended for about 15 minutes. About $700 damage was caused to a glass door at Ares Restaurant on Guelph St. when it was smashed some- time late Thursday or early Friday. Nothing was taken from the restaurant. Sunglasses and change were taken from a vehicle parked at a Russell St. Georgetown residence sometime late Thursday or early Friday.
