Reminder postdated cheques will be cashed on Aug 22nd. 16 Independent & Free Press, Wednesday, August 27, 2008 Georgetown resident Dave Levesque made quite a splash at last weeks Jane Rogers Cup Tournament after making the Canadian Tour event held at the Lakeview Golf Course in Mississauga as a last-minute qualifier. Levesque was one of four golfers to qualify by shooting a pre-tourney round of 70, then rocket- ed to a fourth-place finish overall after firing a tournament-low round of 63 in Sundays finale. He started off with a four-over-par 74 last Thursday, then progressively improved, closing out with 68-66-63 to earn $5,166. Ballinafads Marcus Rees turned in an eighth- place result in the CJGAs Adams Golf Junior Classic at Royal Woodbine recently with 79-84, 14 shots behind the winner. The 16-year-old Rees was also on an Eagle Ridge Golf Club team that placed second at the ClubLink Interclub Junior Championships, involving several clubs from Ontario and Quebec at the Station Creek Golf Club in Aurora. Local juniors Brendan Uberig, Andrew Barker and assistant pro Marc Doyle also took part. In the one-round two-person best-ball format, the Eagle Ridge contingent combined for a 21- under-par score, just one shot back of the win- ners. Joel Albany, 12, of Georgetown had rounds of 87 and 84 to finish in a tie for 46th out of 70 entrants at the recent Golf Association of Ontarios bantam (14 yrs. & under) boys cham- pionships at the Puslinch Lake Golf Club in Cambridge.
