Only one sub shop in town is reporting any negative impact on business from the listeria outbreak that has been linked to 12 deaths and seen more than 220 ready-to-eat meat products pulled from Canadian store shelves and restau- rants. Garrett Kent of Subway on Mountainview Rd. (north of Guelph St.) said they have experienced fewer customers this week even though they dont use any of the affected products. He said lots of customers are ask- ing if their meat is Maple Leaf brand and some are opting for alternatives to cold meat sandwiches. The outbreak has actually meant more business for Georgetowns McMaster Meats & Deli said Amber Bonnett, manager of the Main St. store. We have gotten busier because we cook our own meat, said Bonnett. She added any of the deli meat they sell comes from a private sup- plier, not Maple Leaf Foods or any of the other affected brands.
