70% OFF Acton/Georgetown, Friday, September 5, 2008 15 New feature at Acton Indoor Pool Proceeds from the 2007 Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion fundraiser, organized by the Halton Hills Accessibility Advisory Committee (HHAAC), were used to purchase a new lift for the Acton Lions Indoor Pool for those who need assistance getting in and out of the water. Previously, the Acton and Georgetown indoor pools had been sharing a portable lift. While the 2008 Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion event had to be cancelled, planning for the 2009 fundraiser will get under way shortly, which will include a 10-km walk, roll or run and the pop- ular Wheelchair Skills Challenge. In the photo (front, from left) are Bill Leslie and Maria Smorong, co-chairs of the HHAACs Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion, and Town of Halton Hills lifeguard Rhiannon Roehrig. Back row: HHAAC members Jon Hurst, Yvonne Spicer, Barbara Montemurro, Judy Fewster. Photo by Eamonn Maher The Georgetown Bread Basket (food bank) is very low on some food items. If you can help, please drop off at any of the grocery stores: cold cereal, canned juice, canned vegetables, canned meat, instant coffee, flour, baking goods, fruit bars. Thanks for your help. Any items can be placed in the food bank bins at any of the grocery stores and food bank volunteers will pick up. Georgetown Bread Basket low on food items
