After 50 minutes of scattered play, the Highlanders dominated Belleville for the duration of the match but couldnt catch up, settling for fourth place after a 27-17 defeat. Photo by Jamie Hodgson Highlanders fourth The Halton Hills-based CheerForce Flyers have try- outs for the 2008-09 season scheduled for this weekend in four different age categories that are open to girls and boys. In just three years of operation in Georgetown, the Flyers have become one of the top cheerleading clubs in Canada, having won several national and provincial team titles. Head coach Frank Vurro said that CheerForce will send its senior and junior teams to the U.S. Nationals in Florida in March and all four divisions travel to about six to eight competitions through the season. The tryouts will be held Sunday, Sept. 7 at the Halton Hills Gymnastics Centre. Tryout times are: Mini (8 yrs. & under) 5-6 p.m.; Youth (11 yrs. & younger) 5-6 p.m.; Junior (14 yrs. & under) 6-8 p.m.; Senior (18 yrs. & younger) 7:30-9:30 p.m. Cost for the tryout is $5 per person. The soccer club will declare its champions at the Croatian Centre on Winston Churchill Blvd. with games all day while the Kinsmen Girls will hold their title matches at the Georgetown Fairgrounds with contests throughout the day.
