SENIORS LIFESTYLES Georgetown Seniors Centre sets monthly luncheon dates Now that the fall weather has arrived the ladies are looking over their fall wardrobe. If you feel it needs a boost, you should attend the Geri Fashion Show at the Centre on Monday, October 22. You can view the selections from 10 a.m. with the show beginning at 1 p.m. Your ticket to the show will provide you with opportunities to win one of the draws and refreshments. Once more the Centre is offering a free flu clinic to be held on Tuesday, October 23. The clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It only hurts for a second but provides great protection from the dreaded flu this coming winter. Luncheon dates have now been settled for sure. They will be held the third Thursday of each month. The next one will be on Thursday, Nov. 15. The Drama Group will present a Remembrance Day program that will include a visit from the Andrews Sisters. Another change regarding the luncheons is that tickets must be purchased from the Front Desk prior to the event. All luncheons are $7. They are not intended as a fundraiser for the Centre but, instead an opportunity for us to get together for a little socializing. Seniors Showcase, a television program for seniors and produced by seniors, is now available on Cogeco TV at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Drop in to Channel 14 and have a look. With Halloween fast approaching, the Centre is having a Halloween Dance on Friday, October 26. Dancing begins at 7 p.m. and goes to 10 p.m. Music will be supplied by our own Seniors Band. Come on witches, and goblins, and ghosts and join in the fun! Some upcoming events to mark on your calendars for November are the Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 17 and the Tree Trimming party on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The new Newsletter is about to get a new name. It will represent the fact that there are two Seniors Centres in The Town of Halton Hills one in Acton and one in Georgetown. Both newsletters will carry the same banner name. You are going to be given the opportunity to suggest the new banner name. When you come up with one put it on a piece of paper and drop it in the box. No need to sign it if you so wish. After the Christmas dinner on December 11, the com- mittee will select the most popular name and it will appear on the first newsletter of 2008. Come on out to the Georgetown Seniors Centre! Join in the fun! Make new friends!
