Smith, a forward/post on the Bearcats junior basketball team, was selected for her 11 points scored against CtK recently. Kayler, a setter on the Bearcats junior volleyball team, was chosen for his good setting and serving against CtK. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Tory McCracken and Emily Driedger. McCracken, a guard on the Rebels junior basketball team, was cited for her strong defense against MMR, which led the team to a 37-23 win. Driedger, a member of the Rebels cross country team was recognized for her 10 place finish at Heart Lake meet, 11th and Fanshaw, 4th at St Catharines and 8th at Etobicoke Centennial park, all in the junior girls class. Christ the King Catholic High School Athletes of the Week are Samantha Green and Sean Bowen. Green, a member of the Jaguars cross country team, was cho- sen for her second place win out of 185 at the Heart Lake meet in the junior girls class. Minor Bantam AE Raiders After posting a couple of shutouts, Georgetowns Ultimate Hockey Training Raiders remain unbeaten in Tri-County minor bantam AE league play. Photo by Eamonn Maher Star-struck North Halton Golf & Country Club junior member Samantha Spencer hasnt packed away her clubs for the sea- son just yet as she played in the Canadian Junior Golf Associations Fall Series Finale and entered a couple of tour- naments south of the border. The 11-year-old from Georgetown South placed fifth in the open girls division at the 36-hole CJGA event held at the Caledon Woods Golf Club with rounds of 101-100. Andrew Tressel of Acton placed fifth in the boys 17-19 category by shooting 78-82. Spencer also entered an International Junior Golf Tour tournament in Hershey, Pa., placing seventh amongst a tough field in the girls 11-14 age group with two rounds of 99. She played in the IJGTs Cyprian Keyes stop near Boston on the Thanksgiving weekend as the lone competitor in her age group, shooting 111-110. Shell make her second trip this year to Pinehurst, N.C. for another IJGT tourney and has earned an invitation to compete in the IJGT Tournament of Champions May 23-26 in Orlando, Fla.
