Thats the message United Way of Halton Hills executive director Janet Foster wants to get out to area residents during the 2007 United Way campaign that got under way in September. People who work outside of Halton Hills can direct their United Way payroll designation through their workplace to come back to their local United Way, said Foster. Residents are urged to give where you live. All money raised in Halton Hills stays in Halton Hills. The United Way has set a goal of $275,000 for this years campaign. A total of $14,000 was raised for the United Way at the Annual President s Bal l in September. This is a very realistic and achievable goal for the community of Halton Hills, said Campaign Chair Chris Cooke. With the help of area residents and local businesses, we will meet or surpass our goal for 2007. United Way of Halton Hills currently funds 17 local agencies, offering programs and services to children, youth, adults, families, seniors and people with dis- abilities. In a few weeks Halton Hills residents will receive a United Way brochure in the mail. The brochure will include a donation form and envelope all in one. All that residents have to do is make their dona- tion, fold back the pledge form, tape it shut and mail it in, said Foster. She said this year Prosperity One is offering to take donation cheques from residents in Acton and Georgetown for the United Way of Halton Hills cam- paign. Residents can drop off their donation cheques at ei ther branch in Halton Hil ls unti l the end of November, rather then sending it in the mail. The United Way also encourages area businesses to hold workplace campaigns. The organizations next fundraiser is The Holiday House Tour Sat. Nov. 24. Tickets are $25 per person. Seven area homes professionally decorated for the Christmas season will be featured. Anyone interested in more information on United Way, launching a workplace campaign or purchasing tickets for the Holiday House Tour is asked to call the United Way office at 905-877-3066. From now until November 30, anyone wishing to donate to the United Way of Halton Hills can simply drop their donations off at either Prosperity One branch, and it will go directly to the campaign.
