After meeting him, what a funny, lov- ing, gorgeous bundle of canine mag- netism he is and Jace exercises such a tug on the heartstrings, he is not easi- ly forgotten. Jace is a large 80 lbs + big, hairy black/brown/beige three-year-old Bouvier de Flanders mix, with the added appeal of a bottom that looks as though he sat in white paint which continues up the underside of his tail. These cute mark- ings are only noticed when walking behind him and add to the special package which is Jace. Jace grew up in Newfoundland where he spent all three years of his life tied to a pickup living under the cab. How lonely he must have been with just the seag- ulls for company! All circumstances are not known but we do know his days were numbered by someone, until he was rescued and flown to Ontario, where he found a safe haven at Upper Credit Humane Society. We are priv- ileged to have Jace with us and are looking for a very spe- cial home for this courageous, loving canine. If I was casting a movie Jace would be the star. He is just the type of dog you see in a heartrending movie with a little boy and I am sure it would become a classic. Jace showed his star quality when posing for his picture for the Web and also for one-of-our-soon to be released Christmas cards. He was a natural! We find it truly amaz- ing that anyone would have ever thought of euthanizing such a unique boy! Jace presents as a strong dog but not unruly. He knows how to sit and shake both paws, loves to play fetch, a little too determined on leash but often he stops and leans against your legs looking up with those expres- sive eyes framed with wiry standup hair just imploring you to pet him and whisper sweet nothings to him for as long as you want! How this neglected dog came to be so sound in spirit we do not know, but it says a lot about Jace that he is trusting, loving and sweet, and he has never shown any negative side to his personality and is always anxiously waiting to show his love of people. Jace has been deemed very intelli- gent, willing to learn new things, his quick mind needs a job, training would be fun for Jace and he would excel with a family who want to share in the thrill of seeing a dog unfold to his true potential. Jace will certainly conjure up a lot of attention with his unusual, handsome breed mix and comical expres- sions. To see him in his run or around the Shelter, brings a smile to your face so if you think Jace could star in your familys movie, call the Shelter at 519-833-2287 and come and see this deserving canine... he certainly wants to meet you! JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society volunteer Pet of the Month Neglected Jace is trusting, loving and sweet Rescued from Newfoundland Thrift shop auctions The UCHS Thrift Shop monthly Silent Auctions began in September.
