Carscadden, who plays power on the Bearcats senior volleyball team, was cho- sen for his good hitting. Serving and passing in a win against Aldershot. Mills, a wing on the Bearcats senior basketball team, was selected for her good defense against Bishop Reding. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Katie Banks and Rob Cutting. Banks, a guard on the Rebels senior basketball team, was cited for her team leadership throughout the season. Cutting, a Grade 12 student, scored four touchdowns and kicked a field goal in a 37-6 romp over Holy Trinity that helped push the senior Rebels into the Halton Division II semi- finals Friday at home against St. Thomas Aquinas. Christ the King Catholic High School Athletes of the Week are Jordan Milne and Andrea Legere. Milne, a power on the Jaguars junior volleyball team, was cho- sen for his good passing and serving against MDHS. Legere, a member of the Rebels cross country team, was selected for her finishing 13th of 70 runners at GHAC in Hamilton. HASSARDS OFFICE) 2 Sports & Leisure, Friday, November 9, 2007 Thirty-four teams from around south-central Ontario skated in the 23rd-annual Georgetown Hockey Heritage Council Oldtimers Hockey Tournament last weekend at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex. The four-day event featured six divisions ranging from mensover- 35 to over-50. One of the seven Georgetown-based teams entered, Halton Hills Rad & Tire, claimed the championship trophy in the over-35 C category. Over-35 C Four quick second-period goals helped secure a 5-2 victory for Halton Hills Rad & Tire in the final against the Erin Ancients on Sunday afternoon. Brian Prowse (2), Rich Miaskowski, Doug Butler and Steve Healey found net for the champs, who had defeated Georgetowns Honeywell 3-0 earlier in the day to make the final. The Halton Hills Grinders were knocked out of contention with a 5-3 loss to Erin on Sunday. Deryk Clark, Brent McConomy and Paul Cook tallied for the Grinders. Over-50 B A couple of first-period goals stood up for the St. Catharines Old Ducks in their 2-1 win over Georgetowns Sports Unlimited on Sunday for top spot in the division. Pat Maloney had the lone Sports Unlimited marker. Over-50 D Georgetowns Cobras went 0-2-1 in the tournament, which included a 4-4 t ie with the Kitchener- Waterloo Dutchmen. Joe Cardosa (2), Barry Duke and Roger Shea scored for the Cobras. The Tottenham Polar Bears downed the Erin Old Masters 4-2 in the championship game. Over-35 E/F The Georgetown Flatliners, who won the OMHA juvenile AA cham- pionship 16 years ago with Charlie Hanman as coach, enjoyed a reunion at the GHHC tourney. They were edged 4-3 by the Meadowvale Warriors in the conso- lation final. Rory Kennedy (2) and Rob Kazlauski scored for the Flatliners. Two Oakville squads met in the final with the Renegades blanking the Moody Blues 4-0. Over-50 C The Brampton Falcons defeated the Guelph Over-50 Fossils in the title matchup. Over-45 D In the championship game, the Thursday Thunder of Toronto beat the Brampton Direct Hit All-Stars 5-2. Goaltender Rick Tomkinsons glove save helped pre- serve a 2-1 victory for Georgetowns Sports Unlimited as they faced off against the Aurora Salon in a prelimi- nary-round game Saturday during the 23rd-annual Georgetown Hockey Heritage Council oldtimers hock- ey tournament.
