Come on in Thursday, November 15, 2007 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Acton/Georgetown, Friday, November 9, 2007 3 An Acton man has been charged in connec- tion with a racially-motivated assault at Pizza Pizza in Georgetown Friday. Police report at 2 p.m. last Friday a man entered the Guelph St. store and began to berate a 20-year-old male employee in the store because of his heritage. Police say after uttering racial slurs the man left the store and went around to the back of the building. The employee, concerned the man might cause some damage, went to the back of the store where he encountered the man again. Police say the employee was subjected to extreme racial slurs and was attacked by the man who punched him in the face. A second employee of Pizza Pizza inter- vened, and the man fled. The victim suffered minor injuries and did- nt require medical attention. Following investigation, police arrested a man on Monday. Charged with assault is Brent Arthur Ferguson, 44, of Churchill Rd., Acton. Halton Police report a Sony PlayStation, 30 games and cash were taken from a Secord Lane, Acton home during a break and enter Monday between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. Entry was gained after the front door was forced open. Police blotter Man charged in racist attack Drivers escape injury A 71-year-old Brampton man has been charged with careless driving in connection with a col- lision on Hwy. 7 near Trafalgar Rd. S. yesterday (Thursday) morning. Halton Police say the man was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer in the eastbound curb lane of Hwy. 7 when, while making a U-turn, he cut off the driver of a Saturn in the eastbound centre lane.
