Each year, the village hosts the spe- cial day in honour of famed Canadian novelist Lucy Maud Montgomery who lived in Norval from 1926 to 1935 with her husband, Rev. Ewan Macdonald, the pastor of Norval Presbyterian Church during that time. This year, the Norval Community Association presents An Evening at Norval Presbyterian Church. Starting at 7 p.m. hear Dr. Mary Rubio, interna- tionally recognized author, talk about her official biography of Montgomery. Jack and Linda Hutton, owners of Balas Museum featuring Montgomery memorabilia, will be recreating the long-lost 1919 movie version of Anne of Green Gables in a magi- cal lantern show. Jack, a well- known ragtime pianist, will be playing the origi- nal piano music. Also meet Deborah Quaile, author of L.M. Montgomery: The Norval Years 1926-1935 and Elaine and Kelly Crawford, authors of Aunt Mauds Recipe Book. The Norval Womens Institute will also have a display on Montgomery.
