Hobo is young mature at approximately eight years old and exhibits a zest for life and has no idea of his close call with death. This compact boy weighs in at 60 lb., ideal for his medium height and frame. We do not really know if Hobo has been everywhere but we do know he was rescued from death row at another facility. Hobo deserves to live much more of his life and dis- plays as friendly with people and other dogs, ALWAYS clean in his ken- nel, great to walk and interact with and, boy oh boy, he loves attention and treats. Hobo has an endearing, expres- sive face which perfectly matches his easy going personality... how could this boy have been on death row? For those familiar with GS/Husky crosses, you know that the usually stunning plush coat, when shedding, looks rather tattered. Bad luck for Hobo who is in mid-shed (exacerbat- ed by Shelter stress no doubt), but prospective adoptive families will not see Hobo looking his best. (The writer was the proud owner of such a mix, and we used to say our boy looked like a yak) short lived... and nothing a persistent owner or groomer cannot fix and the up side is that is it does not last long and the usual plush richness of the coat is the prize at the end of the day! Hobo must be kept on a low pro- tein diet or his kidney problems flare up... no meds required... and his enjoyment of his rations is a high spot of his day! Hobo would be an ideal boy for a mature family, who would love him up and enjoy his easy going ways. Hobo eagerly awaits your visit, so should you like to meet him, call 519-833-2287 for a meet and greet. Hobo Ive been everywhere, man... HOBO Pet of the Month JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society Alice is not in Wonderland. She definitely is languishing at the UCHS, but what a little beau- ty ginger with delicious white markings mak- ing her a very attractive young lady with remarkable green eyes. Alice came into care from our foster kitten program and proved herself to be the most exemplary foster mum. Alice offered comfort and so much love to many stray kittens that passed her way, tended to their needs, nursing them as it they were her own babies. Deserving Alice is affec- tionate with people, just not in your face persistent affec- tion, she presents as calm, laid back and a lady! Alice fits in and seems to like the other cats in the cat room, and would be good with other animals she would be great with well-informed, gentle children and would be a perfect cat for family life. Alice is oh so ready to go home with you, so make an appointment to make Wonderland a reality for this lovely girl. Call UCHS Shelter 519-833-2287 for a meet and greet. URGENT: The sheer number of cats is overwhelming at the Shelter, we desperately need donations of cat scratching posts (old or new), our crowded residents need this natural outlet and there are not enough posts to go around! Can you help? Donations of clumping litter, wet and dry cat food are also needed all the time. Halton Hills residents can drop off donations at the Thrift Shop at Moore Park Plaza in Georgetown. Alice is not in Wonderland JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society ALICE Sasha is a two-year-old Lab cross, a red fire- ball with a white blaze, toes and tail tip. Not much is known of Sashas background, as she came to us as a stray... poor Sasha was fright- ened out of her wits, so timid, cowering in the back of the kennel, heartbreaking to see. Sasha made a good recovery at the Shelter and was adopted into a family where she lived for four month but was returned because it seems she became fearful when three people were trying to leash her and nipped. It should be noted the Shelter care- givers have seen no nipping even though different people handle Sasha at various times. Our trainer has assessed Sasha and feels although she can exhibit a fear- ful disposition at times a quiet family could have one happy dog as her confidence grew. Sasha is housebroken, good with other dogs, knows her basic commands, enjoys her leash walk, greets people she knows with exu- berance, loves to sit in the sun and cuddle. Sasha needs a home with no children under 15, who will be patient with her shy nature until that lack of confi- dence is restored, and we would advocate the confidence build- ing of training classes. Sasha would be perfect for a mature single person or couple who would appreciate all the love that Sasha has to give. This basically sweet girl needs a sec- ond chance. Call 519-833-2287 for a meet and greet. Sasha needs a second chance JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society SASHA
