Alex Jarvis of the Georgetown Rebels was runner-up in the junior girls race, finishing six seconds off the lead in a time of 15:54. The top three individual finish- ers, as well as the first- and second-place teams from the GHAC meet, which was held at the Christie Conservation Area on Thursday in Dundas, qualified for this Saturdays OFSAA championships. Acton District High School will send two athletes to the provincials, including Jade Kovacevic, who placed third in the midget girls category. The 14-3-1 Raiders had been the hottest team in the Ontario Junior Hockey League until losing at home 5-3 Saturday night to the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, followed by Georgetowns first road defeat of the sea- son, a 4-3 overtime decision Sunday against the Streetsville Derbys. The loss to the hard-charging Jr. Sabres, coached by former NHLer Grant Ledyard, was the first for the Raiders since the opening week of the regular season and dropped their home record to 4-3-0. And if not for an equalizing goal by leading point-getter Andrew Marcoux with just three sec- onds left in the third period versus the Derbys Sunday evening, Georgetown would have come up pointless from the weekend games.
