foremost facilities for research in demon stration of resource manage ment recreation public education The centre situated on Highway at Dorset Is used by school groups from across the province While be tween 1968 when the centre opened the facility used for inservice train ing and Increasingly by boards of education for a vnr- of outdoor education ex Although the centre has on ly been open for about car its popularllv can be easily documented The centre runs at about BO per cent capacity Groups are urged to moke bookings as soon as possible some are made a year in advance All specialists The centre Is under the direction of George Hamilton Mr Hamilton has collected a team of staffers thai include specialists In re creation fish and wildlife and land management Structured programs In facilities in advance of the trip and then prepare a program using cen tre staffers as resource people only The centre operates all year with the busiest season being winter During the win tcr season a lighted rink cross country skiing trails snow shoe trails and snowmo bile trails feature the winter recreation program A gym games room labs library and a museum arc available all year Canoeing
