Rock and Broom By Pete Vldler Once again the curling season is upon us and the Acton Curling Club is raring to go Throughout the year this reporter will try and bring you all the news and happenings that occur at the club First of all I would like to welcome back all veteran curlers I sure hope they have cleaned their boots and soaked their brooms Some of them I suspect will have to outfit themselves in new curling attire as last years may be loo small But after a full draw Im sure they could wiggle back into their old stuff The club would like to give a hearty welcome to all new curlers who have decided to join the ranks of curling I wish them the best of luck which theyll need and hope theyll find the club hospit able and funfilled as many others have Throughout the year all members will be able to participate in regular league curling bonspiels and the odd Saturday night jitney When members arrive at he club theyll find the Door shining bright the ceiling whiter white and the ice in terrific shape Putting the ice in for some was more fun than curling Slipping and sliding about they managed to splash white on green and red on blue Can marks pocketed the ice surface
