University Allowing for the 3 years attending University and working on behavioural modification programs at the Psychiatric Hospital Gordy has lived in Acton and the immediate area Gord may be new to the political scene but ho is certainly not now to the area and many of the problems that Actonlans feel helpless to combat Ho maintains that a direct rapport with the people of this community and the local government is a must He feels that the local people are not truly represented and that the purpose of a councillor is to keep an open mind end represent the wishes of the people For those of you who were at Meet your Candidate Night there is no mistaking s views on Regional Government Regional government has for the last 3 years been thrust upon us and I am personally confused and dissatisfied as many of you are in what has been accomplished Either make Regional government work for us or get out When Regional government was initiated the population of the Region believed it would be one large community working and living together stabilizing our taxes maintenance education etc In my estimation this has resulted in a drastic change for the Northern area Now may I take a stand on Halton Hills Are the people of Halton Hills satisfied with this arrangement I personally am not for Actons major concerns are not Georgetown Our major concerns high taxes proposed truck routes through our residential areas off street parking during the Mill St construction and now rising recreation costs as well as poor parking and sewage problems in the Kingham development it is about time our problems have preferredprecedence Actonians need their issues dealt with now not weeks or 2 months from now when the damage is done and the concern Is too late I em concerned and determined to take a stand on each and every issue that concerns you and your family and with your support Intend to voice your concerns publicly J- VOTE GORD DAWE REGIONAL COUNCILLOR DECEMBER 6TH
