Mrs conducted the meeting Cele brating years as a member she read Have Faith starting a new year The purpose and Lord Prayer followed Mrs Shoemaker with her helpers Mrs Fosbury and Mrs Veldhuis took over the Devotional featuring Looking into the New ear A solo by Dorothy Simmons was much enjoyed Helen Little also read Understand God Greatness It closed with a New Year prayer Business Business followed and the same executive will stay on again The secretary report was given by Helen Little Many cards of thanks were read from appreciative people for Christmas baskets and other Christmas gifts given to the shut Ins at Christmas Dorothy Simmons gave her quilt report showing the financial sum the many the put in Mrs report on the adopted girl Mrs Shoemaker gave a good report on the sick and shut ins She was also thanked for her big project of the Christmas baskets Invitations Mrs Annie Lambert gave the treasurer report and Mrs Denny the over all re port An invitation was re ceived a nary engineering study on the Credit River watershed has been approved The study will determine hazard lands along the water courses analyses of major erosion areas property the recommenda lion of evening to attend the monthly meeting of Dublin Women s Institute at Ihc home of Mrs Blue Springs One guest and five young members attended Opening exercises were presided over the Presi dent Mrs E Norton and Mrs Hunter called the roll which was by the presentation of an article that had been recycled Thanks for Christmas hampers which had been given to two families in the neighbourhood were ex posed of Mrs Wilson Mrs Norton and Mrs A Dia will look after the de tails Several members leered when a request was made from a sister organ nation for help in serving a large banquet at he Legion in early February girls A particularly pleasing event of the evening was when five girls who were present were honored by Mrs Norton who presented with a silver cream and sugar on a silver tray The girls were Misses Debbie Theresa McCarron Alice Van Dcs Hates and Kim Van All had won Provincial Honors which meant that Ihey had taken 12 or more courses Appreciation of the gifts was expressed by Theresa on behalf of all the girls A letter of interest from a Women Institute member in Northern Ire land was read A Chnslmas card an annual program and a copy of the Ulster Country woman were also enclosed Conlacl had been made when the writer and her husband hid mended Acton fall Fair in September and visited the Dublin I Booth there Unfortunately the guest speaker of the evening was unable to be present Two members of Dublin 1 will be remembered wilh cards and good wishes on their birthdays be celebrated in the near future A choice of fruit breads and cheese were enjoyed when served by the
