The Acton Free Press Wednesday 1977 Acton woman Maureen Shone receives award On Saturday April 16 the Royal York Hotel in Toronto the Central Ontario Association of Community Theatres held its Theatre Arts Bnll and Festival Awards presentation The function was attended by her honor the Governor of Ontario Pauline The presentations of awards for the biggest com unity theatre festival in Canada were made im mediately after dinner and the Alan and Blanche Lund Plaque for the best choreo grapher made to Maureen Shone of 170 Mill St West Acton for her work with the York Minstrels Operatic Society College show Maureen is choreographer and head or the Dance department at Sheridan College in where she leaches all forms of dance and is currently choreo graphing the college show Game She has also arranged the dances for the York Minstrels latest production The Bells are Ringing which opened at the auditorium on April This was her nth consecutive show with this highly acclaimed group During her career Maureen has danced with the Royal Ballet and has ap peared in many leading Ihea in Britain and the A both as performer and choreographer She has been involved in radio television and films In Maureen devised the dance routines for the fashion show at the boat show tn Toronto Maureen resides in Alton vith her husband Leonard and sons Graeme who is attending York University and Andrew who is
