members husbands and families Dublin Women Institute With a good night weather- wise therewasablg crowd of big and little folk at Luxton Hall on Saturday evening Even grandparents from Fergus Dundalk and Kilbride as well as local ones also attended Two Christmas trees and other Christmas Decorations beautified the hall and The Spirit of Christinas was everywhere With tables set In the upstairs hall a fine smorgasbord dinner was enjoyed by everyone Afterwards everything was cleared away to make way for the program Tammy Hunter was master of ceremonies for the evening and Jennifer McLean welcomed everyone in verse The program was as follows The senior boys composed of Adrian Alder Blake and Heath Norton and Jimmy McLean sang Christmas Carols Three little girls Nancy Norton Angela Hunter and Rachel in costume sang and acted The Chipmunk Song A sing song composed of Jason Hunter Norton Susan Kendra Smith John D McLean and Leah and Amy Kranendonk with 20month old Amy stealing the show with her un predictable actions was enjoyed by everyone A pantomime Frosty the Snowman takes a wife accompanied by a recording was well presented by Bloke Heath and Nancy Norton Tammy Sandy and Jason Hunter Jennifer Jimmy and John D McLean Adrian Alder and Susan Appleyard A sweet little song and dance Susie Snowflake was presented by Nancy Norton Angela Hunter and Rachelle Appleyard Leah and Amy Kranendonk Smith and John D McLean Hidden inside an impoverished Grandfather Clock Adrian Alder in troduced a playlet Christmas with Lou Smith as Molly Mouse Jennifer McLean as Mama Mouse Sandy Hunter as Squeaknibble Blake Norton as Master Puss and Nancy Norton Angela Hunter and as the Three Little Mice In the closing number all the children joined in wishing everyone a Merry Christmas Mrs Donna Manes was the for the children Just about the time the program was over Santa Claus arrived and had gifts for all the children the fathers and even for a beaming grandmother from out of town because It was her birthday Following the program a few games of euchre were enjoyed by the older folk attending Much credit is due to the committee Mrs E Norton Mrs W La3by Mrs J Kranendonk and Mrs Alder with the assistance of some of the usbands In presenting such a fine and enjoyable evening for everyone It took consider able work with practices with the children preparation of costumes etc sing along In the background playing the piano is Donna Manes Christmas party well attended I Town turns back clock for program Every year Port Hope one of Canada prettiest historic owns turns back the clock 100 years for the month of December with a multitude of fun activities The whole town parti clpates with merchants and local citizens wearing period dress The stores are decorated with cedar garlands and anti The program includes a threeday antique show and sale with dealers from all over Ontario the General Store featuring handcrafted items a Palace and an saloon There is a Santa Claus their Christmas party on December so it was post poned for a week A fine crowd attended at the home of Mrs Grant McMillan No Holton Hills on December 15 The Family Room in the home was nicely decorated with Christmas tree and other decorations A buffet supper planned by the social committee com posed of Mrs W J Mclntyre Mrs McMillan and Mrs W Frank was enjoyed by everyone Mrs M Hunter the president opened the meeting reading The First Christmas from the book Open Gateways by Laura Dixon followed By the Institute Ode Mary Stewart Collect and Lord Prayer Some homemade Christ mas gifts and decorations were exhibited and admired as an answer to the roll call Mrs Hunter as secretary read the correspondence which in cluded notice of the next Training School for Leaders on the theme Focus for Living on January at Hall Mrs F Kirton will attend from the branch Her daughter Miss Penny Kirton was awarded provincial honors recently Net proceeds from a Christinas dinner served to guests in Acton was handed in to treasurer A Christmas donation to the branch from an interested former member now living in was received with thanks A request from a neigh boring club for pies was received and accepted to be delivered in January Greeting cards will he sent to former residents of the neighborhood Hamper donation will be delivered to two or three in the vicinity to help make a happier Christmas for them The meeting was then turned over to the enter toinment committee com posed of Mrs who was unavoidably absent Mrs and Mrs G McMillan Readings with a Christmas flavor given by Mrs John McLean Christmas Blessings Mrs J Mclntyre The Message of Christmas and Mrs A Near The Old Snowstorm Two or three contests were presented and enjoyed Mrs Dodds and Mrs C shared in the honors for having a birthday nearest to Christmas Santa Claus arrived and with his helper distributed a gift to each one from her pen pal of the year Later a small Christmas Cactus plant was presented to each member from the organization It was an enjoyable evening for everyone as Mrs Brian Alder expressed her thanks to Mrs McMillan the hostess who was assisted by her daughters Mrs Burt and Mrs G
