Last week the Acton Free Press eived a letter from an upset parent regarding coverage of the final game Belowia the letter we received followed by a few of my own comments on this particular situation and others like it it It 1 Dear Mr loir M Spoil Girls I am very displeased with your Pcevee Girls purls coverage far I was concerned coverage during the reason was poor ltoweer the coverage last night really hit a new low Tin Girls iTri played good bill all season- in a laM Puslmch last week- played a do or die game last night defeated your Sports did not have the courtesy or interest in his work to id who won the championship and to take the winner picture irrcKirdlfss or which team won the Pit lure- appear constantly of grown men fly around the baseball diamondpictures of nuns turns being defeated the sports people of Mrs Dorothy Mother of RobuuPecwee Patty Bantam horn won this I am sorry Mrs feels the way she does about the coverage of the local girls baseball team I was unaware they were looking for a league championship until I showed up at the park Monday evening Until that time I believed they were in consol at ion play Over the Minor Ball season the coaches of the various teams know or should know that their game sheets are to be forwarded to the Acton Free Press so both the readership and sponsorship can find out what the turns are doing On more than one occasion this year I informed the league president that the girls teams were not sending in sheets t- The fact they won the league and playoff is great am happy for them but I felt that at that time last week the individual award winners should be I recognized The pee wee team has all season for recognition if the results are I forwarded while the wind up day is the only time that individuals are rewarded for outstanding play and I contributions There were two league champions over the season and both received the same coverage on taking the league crown The only difference was that the A B Foodland Atoms brought their sheets in ail season keep ing the people informed There seems lo be a misunderstand mg as to why I was at the park on day evening Mrs believed that I had promised to come down to get a team picture There was no commitment We do not make promises about picture taking foreseen mishaps sometimes call us to other areas making it impossible to reach certain places at given times We inform anyone wishing a picture taken that we will try to attend the function As for my being there I received a message and although a picture could have been taken I do not believe in building hopes when I know I have excessive materials for my pages that week Award winners from Minor Ball closing Whether I intended on taking pictures or not I am being condemned for showing an interest in minor sports Am I not allowed to show an interest without being behind a camera In Mrs McClure s letter she made reference to the men s team pictures over the season On more than one occasion this year I have gone out and taken pictures and then received no word on the outcome leaving me with pictures I cannot use The mens leagues always handed in reports I would have been happy to take girls pictures action shots at sometime over the season if I had known when they played and that the game sheets would be forwarded In closing I think you will find that it all comes down to a matter of comm unication If no one informs me I dont know Let s hope all problems can be L rectified for next season I would like nothing more than to have full cov erage from each team in every league Wednesday
