Day of Prayer World Day of Prayer was observed In Acton with an ecumenical service In St Alban Anglican Church Friday Some women were in attendance and 13 members of the different churches took active part in the service The theme of this years service was New Persons in Christ Mrs Penny of St Albans wel comed the ladles to the church and opened the service with a call to prayer and a message from the women of the Caribbean Mrs June Tribe of St gave the call to worship and announced the hymn to be sung Praise to the Lord The Almighty Passages of Scripture were read by ladies from St Joseph Parish Acton Baptist Church Pentecostal Church and from Churchill Community Church Mrs Tribe led in thanking God for His Sod Jesus to which the congregation replied with appropriate sentences of thanks Sally Smith of Trinity United read a portion of Luke IS to show how Jesus forgives us when we confess our sins to him Mrs Tribe as Leader listed the sins for which we asked forgiveness The next section of the service dealt with giving thanks and praise by women of Faith and was illustrated by nine ladies each reading a verse outlining the reasons for their belief In God and His Son Jesus June Tribe led in an expression of thanks for the blessings we receive and in asking In Jesus lime Mis blessings and mercy on all leas fortunate than ourselves The congregation then Joined in The
