all officers were the same as previous year Mrs Smith gave current events Ten members answered the roll call by paying dues new member included Mrs Wm McLean will be hostess for the May meeting Mrs Mc Lean thanked Mrs Given and Mrs Blackburn for the extra work Involved in preparing the meal which proved to be most enjoyable for all The Cub and Scout group committee met at the commu nity centre on Monday of lost week A dance has been plan ned and final arrangement made for Friday night The final euchre sponsored by the community centre board was on Tuesday April There was a very good turn out in both federal and provincial Li beral associations Mrs G Foote Burlington councillor introduced the guests of honour and made the pres entations Due to illness Mr Harris was unable to attend the the University of Toronto and finally ho gradua ted from Hall with a LLB He married Ariel and raised three daughters Mr Cleaver served in the army during the first war had already had a taste of poli tical life at that time having been elected as a Burlington councillor On his return from overseas he ran for Reeve and elected and after two years as Reeve he ran for mayor and Hughes Cleaver fought and on four elections and repres ented Halton In Ottawa from 1935 to when he retired Ho was chairman of the Bank Committee for years tho War Expenditures Committee for two years and govern ment owned
