program highlights was a visit by tho chapter to the homo of the Lieut Governor of Ontario the Hon Ross at For two years as a service project Zcta Alpha have prepared and delivered Christ mas baskets for local Multiple Sclerosis patients they have donated money or a wheelchair for a patient and last year they sold Halloween candy to raise money for research Since the monthly meetings arc held in the homes of mem membership has to bo lim ited Duo to ever increasing numbers tho fall of saw tho formation of a second chap ter here in Georgetown by the following former members of Zeta Alpha Mosdames Dorothy McCarthy Pauline Hughes Ka thleen Vickcry Lorrio Ryan and Lob Rogers These girls were determined to make their chapter very spec ial and due to fact that ten members took their first rituals in October this chapter became a Founders Memory Chapter and in the International Office there is special plaque bed with the chapter name Georgetown Ontario Zeta Phi and the names of the six proud founders MARK THE DAY Mcmbc of Zeta Phi have lively participated in many rummage sales the sals of their projects this year Including two famous Beta Sigma Phi cook books a Fashion Show and dirv was held at Christmas end to close their projects this year three members of participated in tho Oxam Walk whilst others helped to dl tribute sandwiches etc Part of this years service project is donation to be made to Georgetown and District Mem orial Hospital For the anniversary all new members were entertained to a Founder s Day Banquet at Spot on Seven Restaurant The began by nil pros of the evening by asking all present to say Founder Day Pledge after It was the pleasure of Dor McCarthy to present The Girl of the Year award to Paul ine Hughes chapter vice dent In token of their of the time spent in train ing Pledges tho vice pre dent was presented with a light er with a sorority inscription on It she was very touched with their thoughtfulnesa Following the presentations Dorothy McCarthy then an nounced that Georgetown Ont ario Zcta Phi were winners of a world wide cook book sale competition and presented a cheque for to tho treasurer For all members this was the end of a perfect night It Is hop ed that this money will be used for a project yet to bo decided Make All Employees No Says Board A recommendation from the finance committee of the Hal ton County School Board stating that all employ must be school supporters effective January 1972 was quickly withdrawn at lost week meeting when it ran into opposition from other board members Trustee Jim of Bur Ungton questioned Its legality and maintained it contravened tho labour laws Another trustee asked why it be done when It was tho policy of public school board to hire only public school supporters
