Conservation Authority where they were In vited to speak for Georgetown area In regards to the preser vation of the escarpment A representation also attended the Esqueslng planning board meeting and spoke there The club as a whole has been active In hikes and various other activities throughout the summer months In this day of awareness the GDN have taken many steps In providing a better en out last week to Queen The tenac girl was competing for the second time while Pat had never been In competition before Her appointment as Halton a Dairy Princess was unanimous and Involved no competition here at home first Despite her Inexperience Pat was surprised to discover she wasnt nervous She didnt have time to be It was a lot of fun ON FIRST NIGHT Pat had hoped to be able to watch some of the other 41 contestants in action before she faced the judges However all thenames went Intoa hat and she found herself scheduled for the first of the eight nights of preliminary competition Groups in designating areas of great ecological interest and value in the area The past president Norman Cramp Is heading up this area of interest Most of the members also belong to the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and yet there are FON members in the area who are not associated with the GDN Club Members come from Georgetown Brampton Erin Chinguacousy and surrounding areas The first regular
