And Environmental Crisis Halton Education Board Approves Canadian Studies Canadian studies and a course called Man Environmental Crisis won approval from the County Board Education at the first meeting of the new school term The courses were outlined by the social science program council and displays were set up in the rear of the board meeting room to Illustrate some of the teaching techniques The Canadian studies will be a broadening of the current Grade 7 and a Canadian history courses using multi media kits assembled by the program council AUDIO ISUA1 The kits include use of audio visual teaching aids and textbook pamphlets and other publications At the seat of the broadened study course is an effort by the committee to Improve what it terms insufficient and neglectful for its en crisis study course But it also received lavish praise from provincial environment minister George Kerr who is also Halton west MPP Kerr in a letter to the subject council said received from St Catharines Stouffville Kew Beach Brampton Georgetown and this tournament should be well worth watching as each club has a number of ex ceptionally good bowlers An open air patio for enjoyable days bus tour of the eastern provinces which Included Newfoundland crossing the southern part of the province from coast to coast and a visit to Gander airport They travelled about miles by ferry during the trip Prom Newfoundland they travelled by ferry to the state of then to mow wnere crossed the border back to Canada at Cornwall and then home In the Maritime provinces followed around the bad storm by about a day and saw much of the damage caused by the heavy rains They had to follow many detours as a great many of the bridges were washed out Mr and Mrs Guy Wilson Kit 1 enjoyed about two weeks visiting with friends and relatives Some of the places they stayed were Cookstown Hunt Sudbury and Ottawa Rev James Maxwell of Hornby enjoyed most of August at their cottage on the hill They took several short trips with their camper which about a week at Balsam Lake and Six Mile Lake when they were com pan led by their daughter Laurie Laurie and Mary Jean Max will and their friend Judy enjoyed two weeks camping in Prince Edward Island They camped at Com wall and Cavendish An unusual sight on Monday morning September were of robins congregating in the rain Tehy were gathering in the on Draper St and many of them were down on the grass looking for worms In the pouring rain Perhaps they were gelling ready for their flight south but this seems rather early for the hardy robin They were all gone about am Shortly after tht robins left the crows a great racket in the bush Sounded like thousands of them gathering together Hope th isn a sign early winter Mrs Ed
