Telford has been organizing projects right and left to raise money for the Legion squadron After many months of successful draws Gib topped it all by an exceedingly turkey shoot last Saturday We were unable to be at the snoot but we understand the project was most profitable Then should be more about this elsewhere in this publication meanwhile a tip ol the hat to Gib tor a job well done Turkey shoots are popular right now the industrial darts are one at the Branch this coming Saturday HUNDREDS VISIT With the festive season at the door Branch is busy wing host to old Santa and the stairway to the auditorium will carry many hundreds of children on their way to visit with this gentleman for the next two weeks Gordie King is the Branch Christmas draw expert Gord has looked after this project for a number of years He originated two to every member which over the years has paid off However Gord would like to see he stubs coming back to the Branch as soon as possible so that he can close his books GIFTS GALORE December 16th is the evening Legion members children will be hauling their parents to the Branch childrens Christmas Party where old Nick will be on duty again passing out gifts galore Don forget now be there We were a bit worried about the November Summit it s a wee bit late this month but bulletin chairwoman Linda Schofield assures us it Is In the mail We hope the Branch Chairman will endeavour to do better this month and everyone of them hove a report in by now so that she can get the Summit out before Christmas The Presidents Christmas message will be in the December issue NEW GROUP Each time we have a new orchestra at the Branch you kind of sit there with your tongue In your cheek for you know they will not compare with the orchestras you use regularly Last Saturday was such occasion the band In question was The Don Ferguson tet the icllows set up and started to play We were chatting to Joe and as the time went by we began to sit up and take notice This group was good As the dance went an people began to ask us where did you get this group Boy theyre good As the evening came to an end we began to realize we had a find in this band They were as good as any musical group we have had at Needless to say we booked them for future dances and are looking forward to enjoying their music at their next visit Prize winners at that dance were Jack
