barbecue which beea an annual event since hoi grown In popularity over the yean The flrat year the committee planned on feeding BOO people and many of the women didnt hint that they could prepare enough salads and plea for that many but they had a very day Over the years they gradually Increased the number they prepared for to 1500 and several times from to people This year for the flrat time there wasnt a crumb left for the cleanup crew to enjoy on the Sunday following Buns and ham were purchased for ranch after the grounds were cleaned up picnic tables returned etc With aD groups pitching In to help the well planned and barbecue was a very successful event The weather was Ideal for the occasion although the weather forecast for the day caused some concern to the committee In case of rain the barbecue was to have been held in Hut- tonvllle public school Early in the afternoon the committee decided to take a chance and they set up st Msple Lodge Farms They were thankful that the hail and thun derstorms predicted didnt hit this locality About pm the food began to run out Salads were all gone and replaced by sliced tomatoes When the tomatoes were all gone a free ticket for a piece of pie was added Then the pie was all gone and the last down people had to settle for a half chicken and a bun with a corresponding reduc tion In the price of the ticket This included
