course the fiercely partisan fana can always be relied upon to stir up should an unwanted calm set In The annua Georgetown Industrial Fastball League Tournament held at the Georgetown Park over the weekend was no exception to the rule and the championship final which pitted Glen Williams against Perks Barber Shop provided a fitting if somewhat anticlimatic ending to he The tournament got un derway Saturday morning and continued throughout he day As the dust settled on Saturday evening the tour nament ran true to form with several surprising decisions being handed in Curwood dropped both their games to Casselmans and to Peel Fence and were eliminated from further play The team from Erin caught everyone by surprise as they knocked off Random then continued their winning ways by drop ping Taurus Steakhouse of Brampton The luck of the draw had Glen Williams facing Peel Fence who have been Involved In the finals for the past several years but the local team defeated the Bramalea visiters and thus relegated them to the consolation division Defending champions Perks Barber Shop had an easy time in their first outing whipping Club Billiards 101 but were almost eliminated from the tournament by Norval The game waa tied at the end of the regulation five Innings but Perks were given the nod to advance on the basis of their having nine base runners to s five the first day drew to a close the Flyers Curwood Taurus Steakhouse and Random had been eliminated Club Billiards Kinsmen and Peel Fence remained In the battle for the consolation championship while Perks Barber Shop Erin and Glen Williams advanced In the championship round The third round byes went to Peel Fence In the consolation championship while Glen Williams was gi vena respite the championship series The
