apart from other tour naments where teams of a higher calibre axe Involved The unexpected becomes the expected Teams given little chance of winning often come up with superlative per formances and of course the fiercely partisan fana can always be relied upon to stir up should an unwanted calm set In The annua Georgetown Industrial Fastball League Tournament held at the Georgetown Park over the ping Taurus Steakhouse of Brampton The luck of the draw had Glen Williams facing Peel Fence who have been Involved In the finals for the past several years but the local team defeated the Bramalea tournament predictions but what was really not ex pected was that Perks would advance as far as they did They are currently in sucth place in the Industrial league standings and credit for their tournament performance must resl on the shoulders of Bob He pitched In all Ihree of the teams wins prior to the championship game but he strain of IB Innings In a day and ahalf left him ineffective in the final Young Jeff Haines of tho Glen deserves full marks as well as It waa the strength of his right arm which carried his team to the championship laurels In be final the Glen struck for seven runs In the opening two innings to put a damper on Perks championship hopes Perks fought back with four runs In the third inning but It was their last gasp as the combination of Jeff Haines and a strong hit ling display by the whole Glen team settled the Issue The final score in the championship game was Glen Williams 12 Perks Barber Shop 5 The many fans who look In the two days of the
