the new pool camp sites which accommodate well over campers numerous picnic areas and two shelters in case of rain natural ponds for fishing a nature trail which iff in fact port of the Bruce Trail showers which are much appreciated by the campers a concession booth plus the beauty of nature which surrounds the entire Talking with some of the people who were enjoying the conservation area on the weekends it was obvious that the opinions expressed as to why they chose this particular conservation area were very similar Marlon and Jacobus of Misslssauga week end campers It close to home but far enough away We come up here quite often now It Just beautiful here Cindy Vanbodegom from Fort Erie was at Terra cotta with her family who were having a family reunion I like the park Its In the bush and there are lots of trees around And I like to go swimming here Mary Vanbodegom Cindy a mother added There is so much room In the park I like the Idea of the campsite locations The sites are far enough awoy from all the other activities In the park John Brampton stated This is the first time we have camped here but we were here many times before for the day The new pool looks terrific The annual Fall Fair to be held on the third and fourth of October Is geared year towards trying to get the community more Involved stated Charles president of the Georgetown Agricultural Society the society respon slble for the organization of the fair There has been a change in Ideas this year By working with the recreation depart we are hoping to get a little more community par tlclpatlon more things which will bring more people from the com out to the fair ex plained Mr However as has been the case In previous years space la a serious problem The mories house many exhibits brought In by organizations and private citizens The grounds opposite the armories will be the location of the many rides and games and track and the centre of thai field will house the horses and many farm oriented exhibits This leaves little room for other displays Mr staled that ten to live plans have been made with the recreation depart to erect two exhibition tents which are to ace commodate local displays One tent would house eight or ten commercial exhibits with the other tent having displays from such organizations as the Red Cross the athletic program and other commercial displays Mr did point out that as of yet these Ideas have not been confirmed by the recreation department Other than that the Georgetown Fall Fair will be primarily the same as the previous years The exhibits Royal Conservatory exams Successful in piano tests recent examination was held in Piano Playing and Theory at the Royal Con of Music in Toronto All were successful in cither first class honors or honors Grade 1 Heather Marplcs First Class honors honors Grade Helen Straatsma First Class honors Catherine honors Sharon Straatsma honors Helen First Class Hanois Sharon honors Sandra First Class honors Jane First Class honors Caroline First Class honors in the armories will be Judged Friday morning and afternoon and the building will be open In evening for all those in teres ted onlookers Saturday will incorporate all the horse and other animal events heavy horse show light horse show pony show quarter horse show and numerous other classes A beef cattle show dairy cattle show and the commercial beef and dairy calves shows plus many other events will also Till Saturday a agenda Mr also pointed out that Ihe wealhcr Is a very Important factor to the success of the fair The entire fair depends so much on the weather We have had several Inquiries from people wishing to put on strictly outdoor exhibits but a tremendous problem arises if it rains for we simply do not have the facilities to house these events staled Mr The horse show which is big drawing card Is severely hampered If the weather is not favourable We find with the horse show that if it does rain a few of them turn out but not enough to make a significant mark You literally don t get anybody to the gate and that Is essential to the fair success stated Mr Fogal We re trying to keep the fair going and we are desperately
