games to St Andrews and Georgetown and it took the shape of real battle Rich Hill the only team with lady coach Joan Co we had been playing all day but it did not seem to have taken any spirit or desire away from them with Linda Sclberas of defence not big in size but very reliable inside right Laurie who would not give up and a very strong and skillful Karen at centre half Karen played the final game la goal and even there did not look out of place The player who drew the attention however was the smallest in the tournament Less then four feet tall Helen did not give an Inch to anybody regardless of their size and she played brilliant soccer or an Victory did not come however Mary Ann saw to that scoring for Dixie the only goal of the game Mary Ann who Is an excellent half back placed goal nil day for Dixie and was tested by Georgetown and St Andrews in previous games Georgetown Georgetown scored three goals on her but St Andrews the winning team had to settle or only one Mary Ann in goal was Just fantastic and in the Richmond game she had no intention to be scored on She had good help from her defence They had the smallest pair of In their league with being a standout In skills as well as coordination Janet a solid right half provided Dixie with the punch to boot the ball out of danger into the opponents half The two top teams however took the field at the end of the day to decide who would be first or second Beth had impressive victories during the day and in the scoring department Georgetown impressed the most up to that point Andrews showed their class
