This presentation was very much appreciated by the Wednesday night darters If you and your friends have admired on occasion those two beautiful shields and the clock In our Lounge those also are the good work and thoughtful deed of both the Thursday night and Tuesday Night Mixed dart league of last year who presented this to the Branch It is certainly a beautiful ad dition and much appreciated Ethel Anthony Bill and Sarah Richards have recently returned from a week in Victoria Harbour where they had a wonderful week While there they were challenged to several dart games and naturally they did Georgetown proud kept up the reputation of Georgetown being hard to beat In the game of darts They stayed at Ann and Connelly a home and lucky Ethel won in the Victoria Harbour lions 5060 draw Edna and Al Grieves are having a nice trip to Washington seeing all me sights Tom and Alice Elliott have sent a you were here card to us from Scotland and It sounds like they will regret having to return home The weather Is still beautiful and they enjoy the entertainment of the pubs Branch Members Now hear this Saturday September Is going to be a busy day as far as sports and good sports are concerned There will be golf in Bronte and Baseball In town Golfers there Is a list on the sports board to sign your name to it you want to play at the Lido Golf course Check for further information Bronte Legion have extended this invitation to all who ore interested Next on the agenda is a Georgetown Garbage League Their wording not mine Teams will consist of workers and employees from Town Works Legion Firefighters Radical Car Club Utter Carriers Police Postal Clerks and Ambulance The list and rules and all in formation are on our Sports board in the so please sign if you arc In terested First game is 10 30 to 12 with only seven innings each game No pitcher already playing in another league Is able to pitch In these games I hope that the whole of Georgetown will come out and shout your favorite teams on to victory See you at the ball park In Glen Williams The corn roast was well attended and everyone en- Joyed themselves so I hear Particularly Joe who won a radio Ada Ward who won a lovely prize and Jerry who won smaller priie It is felt that the corn roasts In future will be held In the afternoon as the weather Is usually too cold at nights The tulips will be arriving at the Branch very soon St Catharines branches have already received theirs All who ordered bulbs will be notified by Tulip chairman Tom Elliott as soon as they arrive and you can start rfantlng them In time for growth Branch members on our sick list this week are Reg Brand- ford who had a back operation and is in intensive care in Welleslcy Hospital at time of writing Charlie Day and Dick We wish them a speedy recovery How ore all our shutins and those on the recuperating list Feeling much better we hope There has been a slight change in the Pipe Band with Johnston being the new Pipe Major We thank Merv Allen for his efforts on behalf of the pipe band for the past eight years and we wish much good luck in his new roll and the added responsibilities and assure him he has the support of the Branch and the great bunch of men In Ihe band The bond has always represented Branch well and we know you will always continue to do so What a nice surprise on Saturday afternoon to walk into the branch and ace Bob and Marg licdley sitting there with a group of friends I hadnt seen them for some time and was glad I happened by In the afternoon they chew to visit usThey are well and thoroughly enjoying It up in Grand Bend I have their phone number in case anyone wishes It and they extend the Invitation to all their friends to be sure to visit them when we are In the district When both of whenever they were asked Come tee us often folks I am sorry to report that- Marg Porter is a very sick lady Marg has been tran sferred to St Michaels In Toronto and we will all say a silent prayer
