Ihe trout season this Saturday Granted some have been fishing the Rainbow Runs in Ihe Great Lakes and Georgian Bay where the season is already open but for the majority of fishermen and women this Saturday sees it off properly If you are in doubt as to what to use drop in to sec Pete or Judy at North Sports on Main Street in Georgetown or give mt a call at Down to the NITTY GHITTYwhcrc to fish Following is a list of places where trout in the area around Hills South of Georgetown MILTON HEIGHTS KILBRIDE MILTON TOWN POND CAMPBELLVILLE BURNS KELSO all with Rainbow trout and some specs in a few of Ihem North of Georgetown conservation area Rainbow Trout conservation area Brook Trout in Ihe Credit River above the dam Terra Cotla conservation area Brook trout in four ponds the Credit River has Brook trout and Brown trout although the browns arc hard to get The old dam in Georgetown should be good with the possibility of some really big Rainbow Trout in the pound class Don scoff at this I caught and released one there last fall that weighed 19 pounds There is a good chance of them being there now The streams around Georgetown and Acton have good populations of wild trout ALTON ORANGEVILLE and the FORKS OF THE CREDIT will likely be crowded but they always give up some really big trout on opening day Just remember to adjust your technique to Ihe water condition and go LIGHT no leaders or large hooks A number or number 8 short shank is ideal and only use sinkers if absolutely necessary Of course there is the big fishing at Colllngwood Owen Sound Thombury Southampton etc
