steering wheel and a bucket scat plus an assorted array of other complicated bits and pieces that hopefully will continue hang together and do the things they are supposed to do It would be intrae to declare that my son and have never before been mobile We both at different time owned pedal cars bul neither of us have ever possessed one that travels under Is own steam so naturally there is fair amount of excitement over our glorious acquisition V of freedom from a onecar family situation dance in my head as I imagine booking dental appointments in a carefree manner without having to calculate my husband s work shifts eight months in advance and dream of release from a neurotic dependency on taxis lo carry me In and from work This means of transportation dependably arriving on my doorstep minutes early in the morning before I have my ultra lash in place while keeping me impatiently foot tapping half an hour after my work day has ended HAVE TO LEARN There is obviously a lot I am going to have to learn having been plunged into car ownership Listening lo the earnest conversations being held between Richard and his father I have already discovered that when applied to a car docs not mean a vegetable served before dinner And by dint of careful questioning through a natural reluctance to show the extent of my true ignorance I am already certain that an engine block is quite different from a mental block and that a spare tire around a waistline Is to be deplored in the trunk of a car it is a necessity I am hopeful that this coownership will not cause a rift between mother and son over who last took The Beast through a car wash or oilchanged her and I have not yet faced my reaction should Richard decide to put a mag wheel on his half of the rear end or scratches up my half of a fender Meanwhile should you see a woman on the side of the highway standing beside a dorm an Chevelle Mallbu a name that Immediately makes me feci that I justsleppedoulofo goes
